Wardrobe Photos

Costume Designer Van Broughton Ramsey kept notebooks containing snapshots of each character in costume, along with a form listing every item of clothing worn in the scenes in which the character appeared. The numbers that appear at the bottom of the photographs denote the scene number in which the costume is used.

Robert Duvall purposely tried to stay as lean as possible for the role-- he wanted some hollows in his cheeks.
