Robert Duvall is nearly as well-known for his love of salsa dancing as he is for his great acting. While Lonesome Dove was being filmed near Del Rio, Texas, Duvall invited other cast and crewmembers out for an evening of salsa dancing at a local restaurant. "Hat Creek Outfit" refers to the Production Company formed to produce "Lonesome Dove." Memos such as this are commonly used to exchange information among the production cast and crew.
