Ron Querry Papers

Elaine and Ron Querry

In 2004, Ron Querry donated extensive literary archives to the Southwestern Writers Collection, including materials relating to his celebrated novels The Death of Bernadette Lefthand and Bad Medicine. Querry is a mixed-blood descendant of the Choctaw Nation, and his novels have drawn strong praise for their portrayals of the Southwest's native peoples.

Querry is also the author of the memoir, I See By My Get-Up, and the editor of the anthology Growing Old at Willie Nelson's Picnic and Other Sketches of Life in the Southwest.

Also included in the archives are a number of photographs by Elaine Querry, a noted Southwestern photographer and the wife of Ron Querry.

The Ron Querry papers are available for research. Arrangements can be made by contacting the Archivist, Southwestern Writers Collection.
