| Support the Collections “It seems to me that other people living in the Southwest will lead fuller and richer lives if they become aware of what it holds.” J. Frank Dobie As we work to make the Wittliff Collections at Texas State University-San Marcos the region’s premier institution representing the cultural heritage of the Southwest, private support is more important than ever. Like all state-assisted institutions, the Southwestern Writers Collection and the Southwestern & Mexican Photography Collection face challenging times with respect to the availability of financial resources. Private gifts from friends, corporations, and foundations are essential to our continuing success. Our foremost priority is to build an endowment--an income generating body that is maintained in perpetuity to underwrite the operations of the Wittliff Collections. An endowment creates a sense of permanence that strengthens the organization and enables us to pay increased attention to achieving long-range program objectives. On these pages we hope you will find compelling reasons to support the Wittliff Collections at Texas State University-San Marcos. By making a gift, you will be preserving the things that help define who we are--the literature, films, music, and photographs of our region. You will provide the inspiration to the individuals who come here looking for the spark that will ignite their own creativity. Please consider making a contribution today.
